The technology that has helped to create the new classic animation films will be revealed. Pixar is now a household name but very few are familiar with the math that makes the magic happen on screen in the style of animated films which we have come to love."Tony DeRose, Senior Scientist and Research Group Lead, Pixar Animation Studios
As a Senior Scientist, DeRose is responsible for helping create the technology behind Pixar’s ground breaking animation. He takes us behind the scenes and explains how wide arrays of math topics are central to Pixar’s film production process. To help make math, science, and engineering more relevant and inspiring for students, DeRose also highlights the Young Makers Program and other important educational initiatives that the company is currently involved in.
Location: Los Altos High School Eagle Theatre
Time: 1:00 p.m. check-in; 1:30 p.m. program
Cost: $20 standard, $12 members, $7 students (18 and under)"
