Toni Braxton wasn't necessarily the biggest name in R&B in the '90s, but she brought a smooth, elegance to Top 40 radio that was refreshing. She started singing with her sisters in the late '80s with their group, The Braxtons. Toni didn't really take off till she went solo in the mid-’90s. Her sultry voice and sleek style transcends the era. In fact her latest album, Love, Marriage & Divorce, made with her frequent collaborator Babyface, is only a slight variation on her ’90s music and holds up nicely next to the new, young neo-soul artists.
