Description
This “hands-on” workshop will cover both theory and practice of Hormey (pronounced “Hormay”) massage, a technique in Tibetan Medicine using sesame oil and herbal poultice. This practice generally acts to reduce mental and physical stress, boost the immune system, and increase quality of sleep. It is especially useful for women’s health issues (e.g., menstrual problems, pregnancy and menopause), PTSD, ADHD, depression, and in the care of senior and terminally ill patients.Mempa Yangdron Kalzang is director of the Tibetan Wellness and Healing Center in San Francisco, with satellite clinics in Santa Cruz and Campbell. She holds a Tibetan Medical Degree from the Tibetan Medical University in Lhasa, Tibet and a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz. She has lectured extensively at colleges and other settings.
