Description
Douglas Morrisson Theatre opens the regional premiere of Chekhov’s THREE SISTERS in a new version by Tracy Letts. You may have heard the famous quote, attributed to the Russian poet Osip Mandelstam: “Give the sisters a railway ticket to Moscow at the end of Act I and the play will be over.“ Maybe, but we would lose one of the most amazing and affecting plays ever written. Personally, I am feeling challenged and a bit frightened and tremendously excited to be able to direct it.This Letts adaptation is different – very lean and to-the-point - and I think our audience will be surprised at its immediacy and power. Our DMT design team has come up with a very creative and fascinating concept, where the stage begins to fold in on itself as the sisters’ world shrinks.
