Join BIJ for their special Selichot Program. The program begins with a free screening and discussion of the German film, "The Wave" followed by a brief Selichot service."The Wave" is based on a real life classroom experiment conducted at Palo Alto High in 1967. The controversial film demonstrates how under certain conditions, average people can develop attitudes and behaviors of superiority that lead to disastrous consequences.
After the film, Rabbi Rosalind Glazer will lead a discussion on human potential for evil and for good, emphasizing the seasonal practice of teshuvah, the call for individual and communal self-reflection, correction and transformation.
Join us for this stimulating and thoughtful program.
