Description
The Big Rock Show brings The Trims, The Winter Sounds, Tremor Low, and Claire on a Dare to the Art Boutiki.San Jose's own indie alternative group The Trims headlines The Big Rock Show with Bryan Aguitte on lead guitar, Billy Brady on drums, Gabriel Maciel on vocals and rhythm guitar, and Tadashi Morri on bass. Save Alternative describes them as having "a strong sound reminiscent of early Strokes and the brit pop of the 90's, while also conjuring the swagger of artists like Joy Division."
The Winter Sounds are making a stop at the Art Boutiki as a part of their national US tour. The band was started by frontman Patrick Keenan in 2006, and they have since released an extremely well-received debut album Church of the Haunted South. The band is currently working on their forthcoming album Runner with legendary producer Scott Solter.
Tremor Low is a four-piece post-punk, new wave band native to Oakland, California where they first began honing their sound three years ago. Earlier this year, the band released a five-song EP entitled Kingmaker, described as "the ultimate expression of what Tremor Low is: a state of frenzy that demands to be heard."
Claire on a Dare was originally formed by songwriter Stephen Paul Dix and guitarist Mark Olsen, but has since been joined by Raya Ghajar on vocals on guitar, Lauren Morris on vocals and keyboards, Jessie Medina on drums, and TJ Goldenberg on bass. The Los Gatos-based band first released their indie/electronic/post-punk sound on the EP Science and Soliloquies.
Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the door.
