Description

The Staxx Brothers are a Hard Ass Soul band from Seattle, WA. Widely considered one of the city’s top live acts, The Staxx Brothers stand out among their peers in their ability to translate their considerable onstage swagger to each of their ambitious albums and music videos.

Their latest single, Callin’ features their back up singers The Staquelettes stepping into the limelight. In the video the girls sing a timeless, vaguely 60s girl group number, set within a French film that was never made.

In recent years, The Staxx Brothers have shared the stage with many of their heroes, including Ivan Neville & Dumpstaphunk, The Rebirth Brass Band, and members of The Funky Meters. In 2011, half a dozen past and present members of Parliament-Funkadelic joined the band onstage at The BooM BooM RooM (1601 Fillmore Street) for an impromptu half hour set. That same year The Staxx Brothers toured the West Coast with The Pimps of Joytime. Whether opening for a national act or playing multiple sets as a headliner, The Staxx Brothers never neglect to thrill an audience from start to finish.
