Description
The San Francisco Marathon is back for its 38th year! The 38th running of The San Francisco Marathon brings a full marathon, half marathon, 5K and 52.4-mile ultra marathon to the streets and bridges of San Francisco. Known for its scenic views, this USATF certified course is a Boston marathon qualifying race. The full marathon and first half marathon start at the Ferry Building, run along the Embarcadero, and cross along the roadbed of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The San Francisco Marathon races sold out in 2014 and previous years, and the race is filling up faster than ever in 2015. The 26.2-mile marathon is the city's only full marathon course, and, aside from the miles over the Golden Gate Bridge and Vista Point loop, all race miles are contained within the 7x7 limits of the city of San Francisco. All five race courses celebrate the beauty of this iconic city, delivering runners an unforgettable experience of owning the city's streets. Marathon weekend is fun for runners and spectators alike - if you're not running, pick your favorite city street corner, bring a sign, friends, water and support the runners along the way!
