Description
In any given week, the New Yorker cartoon editor receives nearly 500 submissions from some of the most brilliant single-panel-gag cartoonists in the world. Of those 500 cartoons, no more than 20 will see print in a typical issue. Thousands upon thousands of cartoons every year are rejected as too risque, too silly, or too weird for the New Yorker, never to see the light of day until now.Curated by regular New Yorker cartoonist Matthew Diffee, The Rejection Collection: Not In The New Yorker Cartoons is a compendium of thirty New Yorker cartoonists' favorite works that were rejected by the magazine. Including cartoons by Leo Cullum, J.C. Duffy, Sam Gross, Marisa Marchetto, Danny Shanahan, Mike Twohy, P.C. Vey, Gahan Wilson and nearly two dozen others, this collection uncovers lost gems of the cartooning world's elite.
