Description

The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco & 3200 Stories Present The Nato Sessions: Live Conversating & Podcastery with Famous Smart People*

Nato Green, one of San Francisco's favorite comedians, always wants to get to the bottom of IT. Now he's teamed up with the JCCSF's online venue, http://3200Stories.org to present a series of public conversations and live podcast recordings with famous smart people.* Nato will investigate big ideas with an array of writers, comedians, musicians, and people who do other things.

*Guests are guaranteed famous, smart, and also people, without specification, limitation, or exclusion.

About Mort Sahl:
Mort Sahl is one of the seminal figures in the history of stand-up comedy. In the late fifties and early sixties, he revolutionized standup by making comedy topical, literate, and rooted in a point-of-view. He was the first comedian to make a live recording and the first to land on the cover of Time Magazine. He has been cited as a major inspiration by Woody Allen, and wrote jokes for President Kennedy. Mort was effectively blacklisted in the 60s for his very public skepticism of the Warren Commission, until the counterculture and the deepening quagmire of Vietnam gave him a new audience. Lately, he's settled in Marin County.

Nato Green:
Nato Green was summed up more or less accurately by The East Bay Express as, "erudite and acerbic, a San Francisco-raised father, union organizer, gastronome, bibliophile, and political sparkplug." He performs on Wednesdays at the legendary alternative comedy show at the Dark Room Theatre, The Business. His first comedy album, The Nato Green Party was released in 2012 by Rooftop Comedy. Nato has been named San Francisco's Best Comedian by the SF Weekly, Huffington Post, and CBS.
