The Mysteries, Secrets, and Solutions: Connecting with the Energy Research at Berkeley Lab Educator Institute is presented by Sally Ride Science, the Center for Science and Engineering Education and the Department of Energy’s Office of Science.Participants will:
• investigate the development of the next generation of biofuels;
• learn about new breakthroughs that will lead to sustainable, clean fuel sources including those being developed from sunlight;
• gain knowledge of the physical science research in support of energy technologies;
• understand how nanotechnology and nanomaterials, and biosynthetic pathways are playing a role in generating hydrocarbon fuels; and
• learn how researchers work closely with industry to develop efficient technologies for buildings that increase energy efficiency, and improve the comfort, health and safety of building occupants.
The registration fee of $30 covers teaching materials, lunch, and keynote by Dr. Sally Ride.
