Description

The Mighty Slim Pickins are a San Francisco based self-proclaimed "what-the-fuck-abilly" band. Blending vintage country, rockabilly and punk, this all-female all-queer outfit is a little bit heartache, a little bit hardcore and a whole lotta camp. With a healthy dose of power chords and a dash of musical theater, they put on a heart-pounding, knee-slapping show and they always look fantastic!

The band is fronted by the inimitable Leigh Crow and spitfire Nettie Hammar. Crow toured internationally as Elvis Herselvis and also leads local bubble-gum sensations, The Whoa Nellies! Ms. Hammar keeps in touch with her rockabilly roots by fronting the band 1/4 Mile Combo when she’s not cuttin’ up with the Pickins.

Lead guitar is Jen Gandy, formerly of Flatcracker she provides the band with its signature sound and screamin’ guitar solos. Resident Canadian and outrageous upright bass player Roxane Chicoine tears it up with her high octane stage antics and hard bass slappin' style. You may recognize our drummer (and newest member), Ace Anderson, as the former lead guitarist of the drag king 70's cover band -- Wood. She's excited to get back to her drumming roots and has a love for camp, kitsch and country.

Come on down the next time were playing in a town near you! We'd love to meet you!
