Description

Artists from The Machinery of Nature Illuminate the Relationship between Technology and Human Life at Varnish

Ben Carpenter, Rey Hernandez and Carlos Huante
showcase their sculpture and paintings in the main gallery of Varnish,

February 6 through March 17

Opening reception Thursday, February 8, from 7 – 11pm.
(21+only, sorry no babies or kids, either)

Sculptors Ben Carpenter and Rey Hernandez, along with painter Carlos Huante, each bring their unique visual interpretation of the simultaneous conflict and symbiosis man has with the technological world of his own creation. Carpenter and Hernandez have both created a series of sculptures which address just how blurry the boundaries between man and machine have become, while Huante shows us a view of the world in which people collectively behave like minute parts of something less like a civilization and more like a social apparatus.
