For a brief period in America’s industrial economy, factory workers were encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings in a literary journal. Take a peak at this moment in labor and women’s history, when Yankee farm girls and new immigrants dreamed of better lives, financial independence, beautiful literature, and hats!
