Danez Smith is a nationally-acclaimed, internationally traveled, constantly surprising gem of a poet and performer. Come get drunk off his charm and mastery. He is sugar on a starving tongue, sass with a sense of legacy, a riot with a smile.
And as it stands, The Lit Slam's poetry competition is becoming the absolute hottest in town. Our journal showcases rising stars like Franny Choi, Ariana Weckstein, Josh Merchant, James Cagney, Katelyn Lucas, Sam Sax, Javier Zamora, Abe Becker, and Denise Jolly--not to mention poetry contributions from each of our game-changing features.
