Come share an afternoon of classic Duke Ellington favorites as The Wayne Wallace Latin Jazz Quintet explores and celebrates the Pan-Caribbean and South American impact of the Ellington oeuvre in today’s popular music.Duke Ellington's “Latin American Suite” was recorded in 1968 after the band's return to the United States from their first trip to South America. The Ellington band played Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Mexico. “Latin American Suite” shows the profound affect the tour had on the band as well as on Ellington's compositions.
