Do you admire the craftsmanship of antique clocks? Would you like to learn the history of how some of these beauties got their unique characteristics?Then join us as Dick Osgood takes you through a photo show of the history of the finest clocks in the world developed in Vienna Austria area of the Austro Hungarian Monarchy. His talk will cover 1790 to 1890 with handouts showing the changes in style during the century.
When: Thursday, November 16 @ 7pm at MOAH, 351 Homer Avenue in Palo Alto
Admission is free to members and only $10.00 for non-members.
Wine and light refreshments will be served for your further enjoyment.
About Mr. Osgood: Dick Osgood comes from a colorful background with an array of hobbies he is interested in. He is an avid car collector and is also an active volunteer at the Alpine Railroad. He enjoyed a 20-year career at Hewlett-Packard as an Engineering Manager. He holds an M.A. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. He also owned a successful antique clock restoration business in downtown Los Altos for 16 years. Although he has many passions, one of his interests is collecting antique clocks. He has also written on the history of clocks.
