Description
San Francisco is the HQs for the Girl Rise-a-thon! A marathon of 12 screenings happening in 12 countries and led by 12 women working in grassroots organizations working towards women empowerment.The LIVE Hangouts will be livestreamed at Causes from 7am-12am on March 7th. The event will start at 6:30pm with some opening words by Virginia Campo who will tell the story behind the Girl Rise-a-thon, then Laura Roberts from Girl Rising will introduce us to the movie.
After the movie, we will have an "open mic" where a speaker from our partners and sponsor organizations (Google, Causes, Intel and Girls in Tech) will share with us WHY and WHAT are they doing for women empowerment locally and globally.
Last we will what is being done in the area by our feautured organization "Not for Sale" and we will learn how we can get involved!
