Description

Can geothermal energy help satisfy the growing need for "clean" alternative energy sources?
On August 27th at 7:00 in the evening, the monthly USGS Evening Public Lecture Series is featuring USGS Geophysicist Colin Williams speaking about "The Future of Geothermal Energy -- a discussion of present opportunities and future challenges"

Even though seven of our western states are already generating electricity from hydrothermal areas, a new USGS assessment of our Nation's geothermal resources has been completed that identifies additional favorable areas for energy development.

Please join us on August 27th to learn about the nature of geothermal energy, it's potential uses for solving future energy needs, and the emerging technologies that may dramatically increase the potential for geothermal energy extraction.
