SPECIAL GUEST: J-BOOGIE (OM Records/Dubtronic Science)Although celebrated in SF for close to 20 years and genuine music lovers at heart, the Triple Threat DJ Crew and Mr. E have both been wanting a club night and a venue free from playing songs that have long outstayed their welcome or have been forced into the heads of club goers via Clear Chanel. The yearn to do something a little different is what their party "The Foundation" is built upon.
Their commitment to music and staying true to their roots was a gamble but the bravery has paid off. On any first Saturday of the month hear Fela Kuti, Mayer Hawthorne, classic New York hip-hop, to soulful house while a truly diverse crowd of people dance and enjoy themselves. Watching people escape from all walks of life party together is a rarity in S.F.'s homogenous nightlife and what's even more rare is that their only request isn't for something they heard on the way to the club, a shout-out on the mic, or "something good" but "Why aren't there more parties like this?".
