Architect and exhibit contributor Jonathan Pearlman speaks on how the many ways we live and work change our homes. Main Gallery. Refreshments. Free.Pearlman is the principal of Elevation Architects (EA), a San Francisco based firm that specializes in custom single-family homes and multi-family residential buildings throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. EA also works with non-profit organizations that work in diverse areas such as the arts, AIDS/HIV services, religious organizations and low-income housing to create organization-specific programming, as well as designing tenant improvements and new buildings.
In addition, he consults on California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) building evaluations, including historic residences, commercial buildings and movie theaters. Current projects include a low-income senior center and housing in San Francisco's Chinatown, the renovation of the 1923 Alexandria Theater with a 37-unit residential building in San Francisco, the rehabilitation of the landmark Hibernia Bank Building in San Francisco and numerous remodels and new homes in Los Altos.
Jonathan is also very active on the Executive Committee and the Architectural History Committee of the Los Altos Neutra House, in charge of design and programming. Jonathan holds an undergraduate degree in Architectural History from Tufts University and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, School of Architecture, where he also taught Design Studios. Before establishing his firm in 1995, he was the Executive Director of the AIDS/HIV Life Center, and prior to that, worked for RMW Architects in San Francisco. Jonathan has been a licensed architect since 1989 with a California license since 1995.
