Description

The Thursday before Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, opens nationally the Balboa Theatre will be presenting all three of Nolan’s Batman films on Nolan’s favorite format: 35mm film. Initially the studio’s denied the Balboa’s request to screen the Dark Knight Trilogy due to the fact that the Balboa hasn’t yet installed digital projectors. However, earlier this month, Nolan, an ardent supporter of 35mm film and it’s preservation, stepped in to request that new prints of the first two Dark Knight films be struck and screened in select theatres. The Balboa Theatre is nothing short of honored to have been chosen to be the only San Francisco theatre to host this event in 35mm. The event starts with Batman Begins at 6pm and culminates with the new Dark Knight Rises at midnight.
