Description

Boundary breaking Robert Moses’ Kin dance company presents the world premiere of The Cinderella Principle, February 25-27th at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Novellus Theater. This remarkable new interdisciplinary work showcases Moses’ dynamic choreographic style and athletic, intelligent dance, in a project that explores non-traditional family structures and the formation of identity. The Cinderella Principle represents a creative process that has evolved from in-depth interviews with families throughout the Bay Area, and represents a tapestry of voices about identity, race, class, gender, and ultimately, love.

Working with award-winning playwright Anne Galjour, composer Todd Reynolds, filmmaker Bill Morrison, and local musician Kid Beyond to integrate personal narrative into movement and music, Robert Moses has created an interdisciplinary work based on the lives of real people that explores a spectrum of family identities while communicating a sense of place and the broad diversity that defines the Bay Area.
