Stanford Theater is proud to present another double feature of classic films.In The Chalk Garden, A grandmother seeks a governess for her 16 year old granddaughter, Laurel. So far, she has been able to drive away all of them by finding out and exposing their past. Soon, an applicant with an unknown past gets the job and Laurel vows to find out her secrets.
In Separate Tables, It's the off-season at Beauregard Hotel in Bournemoth, and only long-term tenants are still around. But when the beautiful Ann Shankland arrives to see her alcoholic ex-husband, John Malcolm, things begin to shake up at the Beauregard Hotel. Malcolm is secretly engaged to Pat Cooper, who runs the hotel. Meanwhile, Mrs. Railton-Bell discovers that the kind Major Pollock is not what he appears to be. which is bad news for her daughter, Sibyl, who is in love with him.
These films will be playing August 29 through August 30.
