The Black Couture Ball

Description

The Black Couture Ball brings glamor back to the

Fillmore District as guests dress up in vintage costumes and formal black dress to listen and dance

to the tune of eight jazz, R&B, swing, and soul bands performing at seven venues, including

Yoshi's Fillmore, Rasselas Jazz Club, 1300 on Fillmore, Bruno's Pizzeria Cucina, Sheba Piano

Lounge and the Fillmore Center Plaza, Lush Life Gallery and Gussie's Chicken and Waffles. The

bands include 11th Commandment, Misa Malone, Emily Anne's Delights, Slim Jenkins, Lee

Presson And The Nails, and Anna Marie and Little Brown Brother. Adding elegance to this retro

celebration is a vintage car display in front of the venues on Fillmore Street. Swing and Lindy

dance and lessons will take place at the Fillmore Plaza followed by a contest for the best vintage

costume. The Black Couture Ball takes place throughout the Fillmore neighborhood, in restaurants

and music venues along Fillmore Street from Post to Eddy Streets. Participating restaurants and

clubs will be offering drink and food specials for the evening.
