The Best Mates' music is familiar without being nostalgic. Equally influenced by 60's pop and 90's grunge, vocalist Amanda Beach writes authentic songs that make you think as you sing along.
Shawn and Amanda Beach musically developed 2000 miles apart, but found common ground with The Beatles, The Rentals, and The Breeders and formed their first band together in 2005 in the Chicago area. Other influences for the duo include The Minders, EELS, The Get Up Kids, Mazzy Star, The Beach Boys, Darlene Love and The Zombies.
