Description
If you don't know their name, you've at least heard of a little place called the "Love Shack." Formed over tropical cocktails in Athens, Georgia, the B-52s rose to fame in the '70s and '80s on the success of their new wave weirdness and absurdist take on American culture. After the experimental explosion of their 1978 debut single "Rock Lobster," the rainbow-hued band rocked the teenage imagination with brightly colored miniskirts, bouffant hairstyles and a go-to soundtrack for every dance party. In 2008, The B-52s released their first original album in 16 years, which debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard charts.
