Description

THE AMERICAN BAR: A local friendly bar. The time is the early 1990s. With the season turning and a chill in the air, a soldier stops in for a few drinks. The affectionate owner and her rough brother-in-law greet the soldier and the three get swept up into a vortex of deceit, chumminess, and confrontation.
IN THEATRE MAGAZINE has called THE AMERICAN BAR, "A cautionary tale of family ties that bind, a unique story filled with rage and revelation."
Written by award winning playwright, MARK WITTEVEEN and Directed by TOM MARTINS.
LAST CALL: A pathetic and desperate man is kicked out of his neighborhood bar at last call. He then pulls a gun and holds the young and ineffectual bartender hostage with the threat of his own suicide. After a feeble attempt at consoling the patron, the focus turns to the young man behind the bar, and a game of cat and mouse begins and ends with two lives crashing down in a number of unforeseen circumstances. "Human nature is always a negative term."
