Description

For 35 years, seminal Orange County punk band The Adolescents has unleashed anthemic teen angst which has since mutated into wise adult aggravation, in intermittent bursts. Original members and "core kids from the black hole" Steve Soto (bass) and Tony Cadena (vocals) remain at the helm of the band and they continue to offer new generations a chance to sing along to tunes from their self-titled 'blue album' onwards that evoke the confusing world of politics, science and everyday struggles to survive as loners and outcasts.

The Weirdos were arguably the first and best entrant in late-'70s Los Angeles punk. The crunching powerhouse wallop of "Destroy All Music" and the incendiary "We've Got The Neutron Bomb" provided a convincing reply to those who dismissed the efforts of Southern California youth in 1977. The original quintet splintered before The Weirdos could record longer records, leaving the Denney Brothers (singer John and and guitarist Dix) to carry on with several musicians for a number of stellar singles, EPs and albums.
