The 27th Annual Santa Cruz PaddleFest on March 22nd-24th at Steamer Lane (park near Lighthouse Point) will attract the best paddle surfers from around the globe to compete in the Elite Steamer Lane surf contest in kayaks, waveskis and on stand-up paddleboards (SUPs).Novice and intermediate paddle-surfers will join the fun of paddle surfing in the Cowell’s Classic surf contest on Saturday and Sunday. And for the third year, PaddleFest will include on Saturday, March 23, the Surftech Surf&Sand Duel-Athlon SUP and Prone Open Ocean Race at Cowell’s Beach.
Event organizers have scheduled PaddleFest later in the year for more sun and a better chance of glassy swells. Registration is still open for the SUP and Prone Race. Surf contest registration has closed. More information is available at http://www.asudoit.com/paddle_fest
