An affiliate of ABS-CBN International, TFCU Talks San Jose will feature a line up of top industry leaders to connect, inspire, and empower college students and young professionals to help them realize their full potential.Taking place inside the Student Union Ballroom at San Jose State University, TFCU Talks San Jose is an exclusive free event with limited seating - first come, first serve. P. LO (MUSICIAN)
P. Lo is a rapper & music producer based in the Bay Area. He’s become a force in the music industry as a recording artist, producer, and songwriter. A BMI award winner, multi platinum songwriter, and touring act, P-Lo has been reaching new audiences with his music since he co-founded the HBK Gang, a collective of musicians and creatives that revitalized the Bay Area’s music scene. P-Lo is cultivating the sound of the Bay Area on a national level and expanding his reach always pushing the boundaries of the West Coast sound as a rapper and a producer.
JOHN CORPUS (CEO OF PHOTOBUCKET)
John Corpus took over as chief executive for in 2015. Corpus also co-founded and was CEO of Milyoni Inc. (social media video tech startup) until it was acquired by Photobucket. He has specialized in the development of e-business strategies including business plan development, content structure, publishing strategy, technical implementation, corporate communication, and workflow process. DR. ALLYSON TINTIANGCO-CUBALES (PROFESSOR/COMMUNITY LEADER)
Dr. Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales is an associate professor of Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University’s College of Ethnic Studies. She is also the founding director of Pin@y Educational Partnerships (PEP), an educational pipeline focused on providing ethnic studies to schools throughout San Francisco.
DJ QBERT (HIP-HOP PIONEER)
DJ QBert, born Richard Quitevis, is widely regarded as the most highly skilled skratching dj that has walked this planet. His long-standing career of innovating the DJ culture has set off a worldwide generation of DJs who are now regarded as musicians and not just DJs that play records, from A-Trak to Craze to C2C to Z-Trip; they would testify to DJ QBert’s influence in their sound and successful careers.
STR8JACKET
As World of Dance 1st place winners, Str8jacket strives to challenge the standards of hip hop dance while still preserving its culture and roots. Their doors are open to everyone in order to create a safe space where people can feel comfortable being who they are and pursue their passions for dance. They help their members improve as dancers, but more importantly they help them improve as people by building consciousness and awareness on a personal and societal level.
FULL POTENTIAL
Established in 2016 and directed by Duncan Padilla, Full Potential is a dance company based in Fremont, CA that aims to foster others – near and far – by teaching wisdom, knowledge and life values through the art of dance. As a dance company, they strive to create leaders, teachers and role models. Full Potential is a family of individuals who aspire to reach their full potential as not only dancers, but as members of the community.
