12 Gallagher Lane – un salon d’art is pleased to announce Artist Jonah Ward’s third installment at the salon. This new body of work departs from his wood-burning and instead explores the deconstructing and layering of the Madrone tree and bald-faced hornet, Dolichovespula, nests.“The intriguing texture of the nests, and the bark and leaves of the Madrone, have inspired me to create new artwork,” said Ward. “Most of my work thus far has been made using wood and paper, so I felt an inherent connection to these materials — they stay true to my use of elements of the natural world.”
“We hold great pride in Jonah and his art, and in watching his creative process evolve over the past two years since his debut as our first visiting artist in 2010 has been remarkable,” said Managing Principal Derek Cabaniss. “Jonah’s new work is a complete departure from his wood-burning, yet with the same element of natural beauty that has been so well received by our patrons.”
