Dan Vickerey, guitarist and vocalist for Counting Crows, joins forces with Patrick Willingham on vocals and guitar, Kurt Stevens on bass and Jim Bogios on drums in the latest incarnation of bluesy Americana outfit Tender Mercies. In keeping with its longtime association with Counting Crows, Tender Mercies is kicking off a string of Bay Area appearances with Counting Crows (the bands play Slim's and the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco March 9-10) before heading down to SXSW for the grand finale. Tonight Tender Mercies plays with locals Windshield Cowboys.
