** A reception for the artist will be held on Thursday, February 1st from 5:30 to 7:30pm.Gallery Paule Anglim is pleased to announce “Ten Stones” an
exhibition of new paintings by Anne Appleby, January 31st through March 3rd, 2007.
Appleby will present a suite of single-panel square paintings (44” x 44”) in oil and wax devoted to a new subject: the stone. With prior series exploring light and color observed in native plants, the sky and water, the artist pays homage to the stone this time, both as the symbol picked up and put in our pocket as we travel through life, and as the document of geological change with recorded layers of history and transformation.
