This is an exciting new monthly tango night comprised of a dance lesson, a live band playing two sets, and a DJ playing classic tango. Hosted by Trio Garufa's Andrea Fuchilieri, who teaches the tango lesson, this program also features the band Tangonero and DJ Adrian Jost of Trio Garufa.Tangonero is a new Argentine Tango band based in San Francisco. We specialize in classic tango - a genre that fuses intense passion with quiet tenderness, alternating sharp percussive rhythms with slow nostalgic melodies. It squeezes your heart to tears and then sets your feet to dancing.
Ashkenaz Music and Dance Community Center is a nationally recognized nonprofit music and culture venue that specializes in presenting live world and roots music.
