Tango No. 9 & Dmitri MathenyTango No. 9, is delighted to welcome former Bay Area flugelhorn virtuoso Dmitri Matheny, back to his old stomping grounds as a part of his West Coast tour. Come listen to the the mellow sound of the flugelhorn dovetailing perfectly with Stephens' trombone, while Matheny's imposing jazz chops take the sound of the group into yet another direction. One show only!
Also on the menu, Tango No. 9's trademark mix of traditional tango, the tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla, and more recent compositions that extend tango conventions into the 21st century, all in lovely, dark bar in Noe Valley on late Sunday afternoon.
