Description

Psychedelics are a trending topic with the recent interest in microdosing, particularly in Silicon Valley where some workers claim this method enhances their productivity and creativity. Talking Art: Psychedelic Medicine will be a conversation with Zach Leary, host of both the “It’s All Happening with Zach Leary” podcast and “The MAPS Podcast” and James Fadiman, cofounder of Sofia University and author of The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide: Safe, Therapeutic, and Sacred Journeys and (with Jordan Gruber) Healthy Selves: Who We Are and Why You Don’t Know It. They will discuss the history, benefits, mythology and politics around psychedelics as medicine and the relationship between psychedelics and creative minds. This talk is in conjunction with the closing reception of Surreal Sublime, which features artists who reference psychedelic visuals in their artwork.

Please note, this event is taking place down the street from the ICA at MACLA while the reception will be held at the ICA.
