Description

Live in San Francisco's Union Square, free swing dance lessons, live music and Djs playing all sorts of swinging music from the 1930s thru the 1950s. Each week features a beginning swing dance lesson taught by various SF Bay Area teachers so yes, this is your chance to get out on the floor and boogie! Dj-6pm, 6:30pm-7pm Beginning dance lesson, concurrent with open dancing. 7pm-8pm live music! The West Coast Ramblers are a Western Swing band from the San Francisco bay area.  A finely polished and sophisticated hot string band fueled with lightning speed and infectious strumming. Jay Laude on drums and Steve Height on the upright swing bass keep the toe tapping backbeat. Front man, Steve Walz sings the boppin' train, country and dance floor fillin' songs of a by-gone era. Putting this band above the rest, searing lead instrumentalists, Nick Rossi on guitar and Lee Jeffiress on pedal steel play twin guitar parts with jazzy improvisation and jumping adventure.
