Description
The thing about innovators is they tend to think on a different level. That's why the Silicon Valley Innovation Institute's 7th anniversary party in Redwood City this week may require a little explanation. They hold events that are sort of like open mics for super awesome people. The last one had the people who make self-amplifying guitars demonstrating how they work, a guy from Smule showing how people all over the world used their Glee app to sing together, music from Scott Sier and Andy Markham, a Bolero dance and more. These events are meant to bring creative people of all types together—there's a strong tech and business aspect, but SVII organizers want to go even further in the direction of showcasing art and music of different types. Aspiring innovators can go to svii.net and sign up. - Steve Palopoli sanjose.com
