Celebrate the release of “Give Thanks,” the new album from Sonoma County’s all star funk band, Sunday Gravy, and help ring in the school year for needy children in the area by donating badly needed school supplies! The event Live performances by Sunday Gravy, plus special opening solo set by Robert Herrera. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Aubergine, Sebastopol.

“Give Thanks” features Sunday Gravy paying homage, or giving ‘thanks’ to some of the legendary artists that paved the way for the band and many, many others. Sunday Gravy performs their own funky versions of classics from artists such as Ray Charles, James Brown, Al Green, Jaco Pastorious, and more, lacing up the tracks with some of the thick, saucy funk, that band is known foR.

Also, the band will be collecting school supplies to be donated to need school children in the area, through the Living Room women and children shelter in Santa Rosa, http://www.thelivingroomsc.org. Last year, Sunday Gravy donated over 200 warm winter coats to area homeless shelters/services, 'The Living Room' and 'Open Table' in Santa Rosa. The coats were collected at Sunday Gravy's 2nd Annual Day After Christmas Funk Bash & Winter Coat Drive, December 26, 2012 at Aubergine.
