San Jose is no stranger to the hip-hop dance scene. Back in 1994, the now internationally famous Style Elements Crew formed with core members hailing from Stockton, Modesto and San Jose. This Friday, they'll celebrate their 20th anniversary over at the brand new Purdance Studio. In the spirit of paying it forward, SEC will offer free dance workshops during the event, with b-boying, popping, and free-style dancing presented. Ken Swift, known as the "Quintessential B-boy," will be hosting his own workshop on Saturday, July 19, noon-2pm, for $20. (RG)
