“…fiery improvisations over pulse-quickening tempos…” – JazzizHailing from Costa Rica and Iran, respectively, Jorge Strunz and Ardeshir Farah pioneered their virtuosic hybrid of Latin and middle-eastern guitar in the late 70’s – as it turned out, decades ahead of their time. Although their fan-base slowly emerged from little more than a cult following, the duo had street credibility from the get-go. Paco DeLucia once went so far as to recommend Strunz to replace Al DiMeola in John McLaughlin’s Guitar Trio. Collaborations with likes of Ruben Blades and Sting followed, and a recording contract with Milestone ultimately established them as an international World Music sensation.
