Description
Exhibition featuring modern landscapes by Los Angeles based artist Nick McPhail. McPhail's paintings tend to be a documentation of man’s relationship with the natural landscape; specifically that of his immediate surroundings. He is interested in how nature creeps into what man has created, and conversely how man has imposed upon and reshaped the natural environment. A hillside that has been reformed to facilitate an expressway. A river that is forced to follow its concrete guidelines. A dilapidated retaining wall fractured by an expanding root system. While these paintings don’t necessarily have people in them, the human presence is quite evident.More Info
