Description

On Friday, April 4th, Strangelove pays tribute to 2 pioneers of electronic music: Kraftwerk and Gary Numan.

DJs Tomas Diablo (Strangelove), Unit 77 (Allegiance), Xander (Dancing Ghosts), and Prince Charming (The Pleasure Principle) play the best of Kraftwerk and Gary Numan in 2 rooms, plus the best of dark electro, industrial, goth, and new wave.

"In the beginning, there was Kraftwerk"
1974's "Autoban" broke the top-10 charts in Germany, England, and the US, and introduced electro to the world. Since then, their minimalist pop has continued to have a profound impact on more artists and genres than we could possibly name. Kraftwerk plays 3 sold-out show at the Fox Theatre March 23rd-25th. http://www.thefoxoakland.com

In 1979, Gary Numan turned away from guitars and embraced the cold new sound of synthesizers (combined with guitar effect pedals). In the span of just 6 months, he released "Replicas" (as Tubeway Army) and "The Pleasure Principle", and created a whole new genre: Synth. Since then he has continuously re-invented himself, and in 1994, Gary embraced industrial and dark wave. Don't miss Gary Numan live at the Fillmore on Sunday, April 6th. http://thefillmore.com/ai1ec_event/gary-numan/
