Description
Steve Wilson and Friends perform original music and arrangements reflecting the full spectrum of jazz, from straight-ahead swinging to Latin, funk and Brazilian grooves. The first set will feature his “Friends” lineup, with Wilson on trombone and vocals; Martan Mann – piano; Gino Raugi – guitar; Stan Poplin – bass; Michael Strunk – drums; Modesto Briseno – trumpet; flugelhorn; Scott Nordgren – alto sax, flute; Dale Mills – tenor sax, clarinet; Jessica Lowe-Wilson – vocals; and Geneva Wilson – vocals. The second set features vocal quartet Mainswing, with soprano Michele Rivard; alto Mona Dena; tenor Mark Bidelman; and Wilson singing bass. It's vocal jazz at its best.
