Description
The theater of the presidential election is upon us. With the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision election campaigns are blowing spending records to pieces. The apparatus of corporate interests and Super PACs thrusts conversations further and further away from everyday people into slick TV ads, empty slogans and easy sound bites. State of Affairs takes a step back from the hype during the month of October. Artists and families are collaborating across the Bay Area on creative projects that take on social and political issues that are important to them. This project takes a broad interpretation of family as a group of people that depend on each other. Each collaborative team is presenting their project at a location outside of the gallery that is relevant and meaningful to them. The Royal NoneSuch Gallery is acting as a hub to bring all the projects together. Key works from the satellite shows will be displayed at the Royal NoneSuch Gallery along with a map listing locations and times of the satellite exhibitions.Participating Artists: Armstrong, artists from the Hearst Street Corridor, Corinna Nicole Brewer, Julio Chavez, Ezekiel Credo, Mari Credo, Oren Credo, Lucas de Giulio, Cliff Hengst, Mateo Jimenez, Rose Khor, Sahar Khoury, Jack Ian Lin, Moonwalk Mansion, Nick Mwaluko, Jerry Peterson, DJ Promo, Psychedelic, Coyote de Giulio-Smith, Jennie Smith, Heather Snider, Rev.
