Description
Paul Holowko kicks off the CNGF/ELSEE 2012-13 Workshop Series with his "One Square-Foot and Window Garden" talk. He'll show how to plant many different types of containers suitable for small spaces, in soil as well as hydroponically and aquaponically.Paul's work is based on cutting-edge soil science and closed-loop growing systems. This workshop will teach you how to inexpensively produce large quantities of healthy foods in small spaces, such as balconies and patios and even indoors!
There will be books, sources, and lists of plants to choose from that will guarantee your success. We'll have plants for sale as well as the chemicals you'll need to add for a small hydroponic farm.
The day includes snacks and tastings from our gardens. And to further sweeten the pot, Paul will be giving away a hydroponic window farm as seen on minicontainergardens.com and Windowfarms.org. You have to be present to win.
The Workshop fee is $30. For members of the California Native Garden Foundation (CNGF), the cost is $25. (Join CNGF at the workshop for $38 and save $10 on this class and 30% on workshops all year!)
Parking is available on Race Street, side streets, St. Leo's parking lot, and in the Food Basket parking lot on Garland.
