Spring Season at Home

LEVYdance announces the culmination of their 10th Anniversary Year with Spring Season at Home, a gathering of favorite works from the company’s first decade, freshly re-imagined into an evening-length experience on June 13-16, 2013. Presented on custom-built stages and catwalks on Heron Street, the South of Market alley where LEVYstudio is located, the selection celebrates the roots of what critics call “daring, densely layered, kinesthetically detailed, and emotionally intense choreography.” Spring Season at Home will navigate viewers through the “athletic and lyrical, brainy and sexy” choreographic landscape of Benjamin Levy’s artistry.
LEVYdance will host a special Spring Season at Home Opening Night Celebration the evening of June 13. Ticketholders for this night’s performance are invited to the pre-performance block party with food trucks, libations and a silent auction. The newly renovated LEVYstudio will also be open for a VIP event including a special performance by LEVYdance founding members and alumni. Following the performance, VIP guests and dancers will join each other in the after party dessert lounge.
The company is excited to be collaborating with acclaimed lighting and set designer Jim French (Twyla Tharp, Cedar Lake, Joe Goode) to integrate, transform and heighten the urban San Francisco environment that will extend the audience’s experience beyond the stage and frame the first full repertory concert in the LEVYdance’s history.
