Description
Hard rock had a moment in the Bay Area in the early 2000s, and two of the most popular bands at the time were Oakland's Systematic and San Francisco's Manmade God. Systematic got signed by Lars Ulrich, but within three years of their debut album they'd broken up. Manmade God was handpicked by Rick Rubin for his American label, but the experience was such an unrelenting headache the band imploded around the same time. Systematic frontman Tim Narducci and Manmade God guitarist Craig Locicero formed Spiralarms, and then proceeded to…do very little. Even for a band this stony, their gestation period was long and strange. They had more line-up changes than albums up until 2010's Highest Society, which seemed to give them a new resolve. Their re-emergence was well-timed, making them practically elder statesmen for the new crop of blazing bands. - Steve Palopoli sanjose.comMore Info
