Southern Pacific Brewing owes its name to the Southern Pacific railroad line that ran down Harrison Street in the early 1900s, transporting the products of San Francisco factories and craftspeople to points throughout the West.  A ten thousand square foot warehouse located in what was once the Mission’s industrial heart, the  building itself is a testament to the area’s history.  Proprietor and San Francisco native Chris Lawrence has lovingly renovated this one-time machine shop into a bright, expansive bar, restaurant and brewery, complete with an upper mezzanine and outdoor patio.

At the helm of Southern Pacific’s 15 barrel specific mechanical system is Andy French, whose clean, dry, true-to-style beers are the main features of a drinks lineup that boasts many attractions, including unique guest brews and high-caliber specialty cocktails.  Head Chef Corey Walsh’s beer-inspired pub fare threatens to steal the show with a selection ranging from house-cured meats, to gourmet pizzas and
burgers, to tempting desserts.

For information about Southern Pacific’s current specialty draughts, including cask-conditioned ales, barrel-aged beers, and collaborations, check out our brewery page, contact us, or just come on in.  Friend SPB on facebook for up-to-date information on beermaker dinners, tours, and other special events.

Below are some of our staple house brews, but we are always brewing new styles including limited barrel-aged beers. So call or come in to see whats currently on tap

Porter (Robust)

India Pale Ale (West Coast)
⁃5.8% ABV/ 55 IBU

North American 2-row barley, German Light Munich, and Belgian Biscuit malts build the foundation for this crisp and dry IPA. Plenty of Columbus, Tomahawk, and Zythos hops give this assertively hopped ale its sharp bitterness and citrus finish. Dry-hopped and filtered.

Extra India Pale Ale (West Coast)
⁃ABV 6.8%/ 65 IBU

Bigger in every way; more malt, more hops, and more body. Munich malt provides the straw color and backbone. While the Colombus, Centennial, and Cascade hops give this ale a snappy bitterness as well as a spicy aroma and finish. Fermented with the most attenuated ale yeast available. Dry-hopped and filtered.

Pale Ale (American)
⁃4.4% ABV/ 42 IBU

Brewed with Golden Promise, Belgian Aromatic, and Honey Malts, this session beer is fermented dry and clean. Hopped with Centennial, Cascade, and Summit varieties from our Pacific Northwest, this is no ordinary easy-drinker. Dry-hopped and filtered.

A traditional unfiltered spiced white beer brewed with unmalted wheat, rolled oats, and 2-row barley. Tart and refreshing, balanced with toasted coriander, Curacao orange peel, sweet Spanish orange peel, and crystallized ginger.

California Blonde (Extra Pale Ale)
